Iperborea just acquired the Italian rights to Arto Paasilinna’s GOD ALMIGHTY (Auta armias, WSOY 1989). Iperborea has been the Italian home of Arto Paasilinna’s work since the 1990s. This will be the first publication of GOD ALMIGHTY in Italian. The book has so far been published in Czech, Dutch, German, Icelandic, Norwegian and Swedish.
GOD ALMIGHTY is one of Paasilinna’s religious satires. Would the thought of a humble crane driver as a substitute god be too much for the Italians? The spirit of this title has been likened to Giovanni Guareschi’s Father Camillo books.
