Anna-Riikka Carlson is the Publisher of Finnish fiction at WSOY. After having held many positions of trust in the book industry in Finland for decades, she firmly believes that literature can change the way we talk to each other and about each other.
Carlson was awarded the prestigious Suomi Prize, a cultural prize awarded by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland, in recognition of her outstanding career as a publisher. “Courageous, brimming with new ideas, Anna-Riikka Carlson is a publisher who believes in the power of books and literature”, the Jury of the Suomi Prize stated in the award ceremony in 2017.
Her narrative non-fiction work on the life and legacy of the beloved author and feminist trailblazer Eeva Kilpi has been met with a phenomenal success in Finland.
