Matti Laine

Matti Laine is a master storyteller, celebrated for his cinematic and action-packed narratives. His work combines a strong societal perspective with timeliness, emphasizing family dynamics and relatable characters.

Laine is the author of the six-part Elias Vitikka crime novel series, which follows a former hockey player who rises to prominence in Helsinki’s underworld. He also served as the head writer for the prizewinning television series The Paradise and was one of the original scriptwriters for Bordertown (Netflix).

His upcoming novel, Her Father’s Daughter (Bazar, February 2025), introduces an international father-daughter duo as they take on a mysterious arms dealer known as Kodiac, launching Laine’s new Armadillo crime novel series.
