We are very happy to announce that Satu Rämö’s HILDUR series has now been pre-empted in both Lithuania and Portugal – the happy publishers are Obuolys (publishers of Stieg Larsson, Jussi-Adler Olsen, Lars Kepler) and Cultura (Janice Hallett, Clare Mackintosh, Peter May and Maurice Leblanc). Rights have now been sold to 17 language territories!

Slovak publisher Petrus acquired the rights to Mika Waltari’s THE ROMAN (Ihmiskunnan viholliset, WSOY 1964). The work has previously been published in the Slovak language in 1972, translated from a German abridged edition. Publisher Petrus now plans an entirely new translation, translated from the original Finnish text by Andrej Rády.

CappelenDamm has bought the Norwegian rights to republish Väinö Linna’s THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER (Tuntematon sotilas, 1954). This is the fourth separate time the novel is coming out in Norwegian in Odd Bang-Hansen’s praised translation. The first edition was published already in 1955.

Norwegian publishing rights to Katja Kettu’s HAWK MOTH (Yöperhonen, WSOY 2015) have been sold to Pax, who have also published Kettu’s previous novel THE MIDWIFE (Kätilö, WSOY 2011) translated by Turid Farbregd. The translation, Jordmora, was awarded the prestigious Kritikprisen in 2013 in Norway.

Serbian rights to Riku Korhonen’s masterful DOCTOR NOVEL (Lääkäriromaani, Sammakko 2008) sold to Kontrast. DOCTOR NOVEL was awarded the European Union Literature Prize in 2010.
